Deforestation
This is a theoretical exercise where we define a specific area with different species of trees distributed randomly along the surface. The different tree species have different colors and the tree height is also defined as a random distribution of values. Every time step represents a year of deforestation. The deforestation in this case is planned, so there is a sequence from left to right and also in terms of areas that are cut. Some areas a uniform and correspond to agricultural use of the land and some others have non regular shapes. These layers are implemented in KeplerGL as JSON files. The video is done by taking snapshots of the different stages and then creating a video from this stop motion. In the background there is satellite imagery.
